I'm a fan of biographies cause they're an interesting way to learn history or be inspired.
I just finished a fantastic book called "Song of Haiti" about an American couple who founded a hospital in Haiti in 1956. It's a great read and I learned a bit about Haiti to boot.
Read anything good lately?

Fri, February 25, 2005 - 2:06 PMAnything in the "Traveler's Tales" series is outstanding. There is something in this series for everyone. I'm currently reading "Love & Romance' and it's just as good as all the other books I've read in this series.

Wed, March 23, 2005 - 3:35 PMI love Anne Mustoe's book on bicycling in China and Australia. She is a retired British headmistress and has wonderful insights about traveling- such as how to get a room in a town that is 'full'. (Get a cup a coffee in a cafe, chat up the owner and they will feel responsible/ interested in helping you find a room.) -

Re: Travel Book Club!
Fri, May 20, 2005 - 9:33 AMHi friends,
MTB started in August 2001 and so over the next year I'll editing a book on "The first 5 yrs". I think it's worth celebrating a 5 yr anniversary, eh? All stories and photos posted on the site will be considered for the book. I'm also hoping to add a lot of my own comments about the organization and the website etc.
Stay tuned! -Amanda
